Question 1 of 3

What is your situation?

What nobody else will do for you

Documents from your country

Full birth certificate, certificate of single status, divorce decree, apostille: we order them in your country through our partners and the consulates, and make sure they are less than 6 months old on the day the file is submitted.

Certified translations

The civil registry requires a translation of any document not in French, German or Italian. We do it ourselves: translation is our trade.

One point of contact, in your language

Marriage, registration of a foreign marriage, family reunification: one file handled from start to finish, in French, English, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Albanian, Serbian or Russian.

How it works

  1. The free check

3 questions to find out which procedures apply to you: marriage, registration of a foreign marriage, permit for your spouse.

  2. The file check for CHF 90

A written report within 48 hours: your documents country by country, what must be apostilled and translated, and the total cost. Deducted from your package if you continue.

  3. The file

We order the foreign certificates and apostilles, translate and check every document, and fill in the forms.

  4. Submission and follow-up

We submit the file and stay in touch with the civil registry or the migration office until the decision.

Our packages

The documents you need, country by country

The documents required depend mainly on the foreign partner’s country of birth. Here are the rules for the countries we handle most often.

Frequently asked questions

Can you get married in Switzerland if you are not Swiss?

Yes. Two foreign nationals can marry in Switzerland, provided the foreign partner proves their stay in Switzerland is legal until the wedding and presents recent, legalised and translated civil status documents.

How much does a civil wedding cost in Switzerland?

Official fees come to around CHF 300 to 400: CHF 150 for the preparatory procedure and CHF 75 for the ceremony, plus any surcharges. On top of that come the foreign documents, their legalisation and their translation.

How long does it take?

Anywhere from a few weeks to several months, depending on the canton and above all the country of origin. Verification of documents by an embassy can take several months. The wedding must take place within 3 months of the procedure being closed.

Are you lawyers?

No. ABC Office is an administrative and translation service. If your application is refused or you need to appeal, we refer you to a partner lawyer.

Is the file check deducted from the package?

Yes, the CHF 90 is deducted from your package if you then entrust your file to us.
